UT School of Public Health San Antonio is proud to host a variety of events related to public health. We believe that promoting health is essential to building a strong and thriving South Texas, and we strive to provide opportunities for everyone to learn and engage with us.

The School celebrates the heritage of all people in the State and beyond. This month, we celebrate Black History Month.

School of Public Health dean Vasan S. Ramachandran, MD will be the keynote speaker and will be presenting, "Complex Adaptive Networks in Health, Disease and Society: Implications for Clinical Research."

Join us for an important discussion on social determinants of health. Featuring State Representative Elizabeth "Liz" Campos, House District 119; Councilwoman Teri Castillo, District 5; Dr. Christine Drennon, CEO, Alamo 亚洲无码 Group; Carolina Carmona, Methodist Healthcare Ministries; and Dr. Vasan Ramachandran, Dean, UT School of Public Health San Antonio.

RURAL Health Webinar

Protecting, connecting, and thriving the public must include all people, including those living in rural areas of our country. We know that rural America faces formidable health and healthcare challenges. For this event, we will partner with the University of Kentucky at Lexington and host a national webinar on rural healthcare that will highlight challenges and innovative solutions to rural healthcare. Parks and Greenways in San Antonio

April 2, 2024, 1 p.m. | Holly Auditorium, Main 亚洲无码 Campus

Protecting, connecting, and thriving amid our parks and green spaces around our homes and in our cities is critical to our public health and wellness. We will capture the City鈥檚 longstanding investment in developing public green spaces at a panel discussion at 亚洲无码 featuring a former City Mayor, Phil Hardberger, and current City Mayor, Ron Nirenberg. Art is Public Health

April 3, 2024, 12 p.m. | Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center

Protecting our cultural arts, connecting with our local heritage, and thriving together creates wellness and thus is part of public health.听 For this event, we will partner with the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center on the west side of San Antonio and host an event with local artists with a discussion about intergenerational connections and their importance for health and wellbeing. Theatre is Public Health

April 5, 2024, 12 p.m. | San Antonio Public Theatre

As public health stewards, we vow to protect our performing arts, connect with professional theater, and thrive together. For this event, we will partner with the San Antonio Public Theater and host an event on the 鈥業mportance of Theater for Public Health and Wellbeing鈥 that underscores theater as a platform for expressing and communicating what we think, feel, and do to be our whole and true selves. Lunch will be provided. Registration coming soon.

April 6, 2024, 8 a.m. | OP Schnabel Park, 9606 Bandera Road, at the intersection of Old Tower Climb Trail and Bluff Loop Trail.

San Antonio residents of all ages are encouraged to lace up their walking shoes and join听,听founding dean of The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio,听for this Walk with a Doc meet-up.听The events are free and all are welcome! Preregistration is not required.
